Music

If you really really listen, an impressive amount of music down through the ages — even after humanity supposedly stopped worshipping the Deities of Greece and Egypt and Rome — is actually about Them. Today, Pagan (and non-Pagan) musicians are creating new music in Their honor.

Below, an incomplete list. This list runs the gamut from Classical to Heavy Metal to Filk, and it is (loosely) arranged by Deity or hero. In some cases, the music explicitly references a particular God or Goddess (such as Corvus Corax’ “Hymnus Apollon”), while in other cases the music feels like a particular Deity to the listener (such as Blind Guardian’s “And Then There Was Silence”). If you encounter any music that you feel strongly should be included, please email us at baeditor@gmail.com.
