For Apollon

Heather Cox

He is the “Bright One,” bathed in beauty and sunlight.

But where there is light there must also be shadows.

A quiet darkness beneath the surface.

Fine hands that can be used to heal, or create the most glorious and dulcet tones on the lyre,

could just as easily bring down plauges with his far shooting arrows or slay terrible beasts.

That divine mouth which utters such sweet words and moves the greatest poets,

may deliver such dire prophecies that cause even the mightiest kings to fear.

He is classic, civilized and rational,

but even he recognises the baser and more primal needs that lies in the hearts of man.

Because he is balance.

He is Apollon.
